Watercolor art
by Karina Danylchuk
Main focus
Fragile nature is under my research. My main focus is on the detailed painting of birds using watercolor. My interest lies in the detail of a single bird or group of birds to set out the difference between people and animals in the way we exist.
I want to show the fragility of a bird world and people's impact on it using watercolors - the most delicate art material. Every brush touch is like embroidery to show the sophisticated elegance of a bird.
Thinking about the future
In my paintings, I always think about the future. Humans or not, we all live together and have an impact on each other. As a human, I feel a responsibility for the world we change. We involve birds, plants, insects, and other living creatures in the problems inside our being. These problems will provide catastrophic results soon. It is catastrophic in the short-term distance, but we don't know what we prepared for nature at all.
Thinking about the war
Full-scaled russian invasion in Ukraine in 2022 had a big impact on my bio, my lifestyle, and my art. Terrifying crimes, everyday threats, losing places where I grew up, fear, anxiety, and other emotions are a big part of my life now. I'm still trying to figure them out and share a part of them in my art. War is here, if not war will be here soon, believe me, it's better to be prepared enough.
Anyway, there is a place to think about an anthropocentric way of thinking and the humanism crisis. Some people start a war with other people, but not only people are victims here.
